One of the best things about launching Nestoria AU officially is that now we're starting to really see some feedback coming in.
Some people have pointed out missing locations or search results they consider strange, but there have been quite a few questions about how Nestoria works exactly and how we fit in with the rest of the property market.
In the effort to go one better than just answering these questions individually by email, here's a really clear interview that one of our fair leaders and co-founders, Ed Freyfogle, gave to Aussiehome.com when he met them at Real Estate Connect in New York.

If you're at work reading this or you don't have any head phones and you're in a public place, but you HAVE to know what Ed's saying, here are what he has to say on a few key points:
On Nestoria's business model: "Our model is not to work with every agent, in every country because that requires a huge team with lots of local knowledge, and a sales force - we can't do that (we're a team of only 11) - we work with the major players in each market so typically that's five or ten different portals. " In the U.K, where we're been up and running for about three years, we work with every portal, as we do in most of our markets and would hope to do eventually in all of them. So for anyone who's interested in listing their properties on Nestoria the best way is to talk to one of our portal partners - you can see them all here.
On Nestoria for users: "Nestoria is for the beginning of your search for a new home when you want to get an overview of the market and very quickly see what's out there. As you narrow down your search you''re probably going spend more of your time on the portals and dealing with an agent or a broker. We believe we're good at helping people find what they want - then when it comes to actually deciding between two or three houses we believe you should be doing that on a property portal or with an agent."
Which brings us on to Ed. on the kind of experience we want our users to have: "If we're doing a good job we're producing fewer page views, we're giving people the right answer very quickly, and they're leaving and they're having a good experience. The destination site is also having a good experience because they're getting relevant users in." Nestoria tries to keep things simple. The team isn't large enough to have time to spend on flashy decorations - not when that time could be spent improving the quality of the search results.
On Australia he says the plan is to: "Launch early and launch often and learn from our mistakes." So keep the feedback coming in.
